Once you have made your colored glitter slime you can place them together side by side to blend them together.

Pink Gold Blue Unicorn Slime

You can have fun playing with your slime on its own, include it in a party favor for a unicorn party.

Twisted Unicorn Slime

When you’re done making the slime, just twist the colors together and you can turn it into unicorn poop! (Silly we know but the kids will get a kick out of it!).

Ingredients Needed to Make Unicorn Slime

Repeat each of the below for each color (you’ll need to make 3 batches of the glitter slime to form your unicorn slime)

Per batch:

  • 1 bottle of Elmer’s glitter glue (6 oz) – we used pink, yellow, and blue and repeated the recipe 3 times. Note: we made this with Elmer’s glitter glue. Do not substitute with other glue as the make-up may not be the same and the recipe may not work
  • Pink, Gold, and Blue Glitter – use lots of glitter to get the same shiny effect. We like this brand of glitter. You can also use biodegradable glitter.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • 1½ tablespoons of Contact lens solution. **Important: your brand of contact lens solution must have boric acid and sodium borate in the ingredient list. This is what interacts with the glue to form the slime.  Renu Fresh contains Boric Acid and Sodium Borate. Do not substitute for other brands. Check the label before buying to make sure it has the right ingredients.
  • Water – add up to 1/4 cup of water for a more stretchy slime

5. Slowly add in your contact lens solution (Reminder: your contact lens solution should contain boric acid or your slime will not form).

Add it in slowly and mix if possible so that you can adjust and ensure you do not add too much.

We like to add a few teaspoons at a time and then mix.

Knead and mix thoroughly before adding more as you do not want to add too much or your slime will get too hard.

You may not need the full amount so take this step slowly.

6. Now mix until your slime forms and begins to harden.

Take it out and knead, knead, knead. You may be surprised how much you need to knead to really make the slime form. It will be very sticky at this point. Especially if you added water. Keep kneading and stretching the slime and it will become less sticky.

If it’s not the desirable consistency keep kneading. Only add a little more contact solution a teaspoon at a time to prevent the slime from becoming too hard.

If you still find it to still be too sticky, add a little bit of lotion or baby oil to your hands.

What Are the Best Slime Containers

I typically store my Unicorn Slime in a large Ziplock bag with the air removed. But if you want to use slime containers, these plastic containers that come with labels that you can use for the type of slime you create are great! They’re just $17 at Amazon for a pack of 12.
