How to Make a Turkey in Disguise Snowman

1. Color in the turkeys.

First, print off a blank disguise a turkey template.

Use markers, colored pencils, crayons, or paint to color in the turkey’s beak and wattle – we left the turkey’s face and body white to make it look like snow.

Color in the tail feathers in a shade of pale blue to look like a snowy sky – or leave them blank and cover them up with cotton balls.

2. Cut out the paper and felt pieces.

Print off the free printable snowman template, found at the bottom of the post.

Cut out the pieces and trace them onto colored paper and felt.

For the snowman body, you can use regular white paper if you plan on adding cotton balls on top, or if you’re skipping the cotton balls a white cardstock or glitter paper would work well.

We used a red hat detail and cut out a green felt scarf for a holiday look.

3. Cover the snowman’s body with cotton balls.

Apply glue onto the snowman’s body.

Stick cotton balls onto the glue, doing your best to fill the space and cover it completely.

You can fluff up or tear the cotton balls as needed to fill any empty spots.

When covered, use a glue stick to glue it onto the turkey’s body, covering the feet and body.

4. Cover the tail feathers with cotton balls (optional).

First, glue down the hat on the turkey head.

Then use cotton balls to cover the tail feathers. When doing this, gently shape and tear the cotton balls to fit the shapes of the tail feathers. If you used cotton balls for the body then paint the feathers in a light blue to look like a snowy sky. Sprinkle on some iridescent or silver glue when the paint is wet.

5. Glue on the hat.

If you haven’t already, glue on the hat. Then glue on the carrot nose on top of the beak.

6. Add the scarf.

Use tacky glue or hot glue (with adult assistance) to glue the felt scarf on so that it sits right at the top of the snowman’s body, with the fringed end hanging down.

7. Glue on the stick arms.

Apply a line of glue to the sticks and place them onto the snowman, forming arms.

8. Add buttons. (optional)

Use a hole punch on black paper to punch 3 circles and glue them onto the snowman’s body.

These work well on the paper version but you can also glue them onto the cotton balls.
