How to Make Paper Roll Stamped Easter Eggs
1. Make the card.
Take a piece of black cardstock and fold it in half, forming a card.
2. Stamp the egg outlines.
Gently squish the sides of the empty paper roll to form it into an oval shape.
Tip: if you don’t have many empty paper rolls ready to use, you can cut up 1 paper roll into 2 pieces so that each one can be used for a different color.
Squeeze some paint onto a paper plate. Dip one end of the paper tube into the paint to coat the edge.
Stamp the roll onto the card, creating an egg outline. Repeat a few times with this color and stamp. Then switch to another color, using a new paper roll to stamp with.
Tip: when stamping always choose the side of the paper roll you didn’t cut so the paper roll will stamp flush to the paper.
3. Add dots onto the eggs.
Dip a cotton swab into paint and apply polka dots within the outlines of the stamped eggs. If you don’t have cotton swabs you can also use the back of a paintbrush to create the dots.
Repeat for all the eggs on the card and set aside to dry completely.
Once the card is dry, glue a piece of white paper inside the card and write an Easter message on it! You can also skip the white paper and use a white paint pen on the black cardstock if you prefer.
These stamped Easter eggs really pop on the black paper but you can also do this activity on white paper too!
