How to Make the Alphabet Crafts
1. Print out the templates.
Download and print out the printables found at the bottom of this post.
If possible, print the files onto white cardstock or heavier-weight paper to make it easier to glue together.
All of the letters are available in color and in black and white.
2. Paint/color in the designs.
If using the black and white files, paint or color in the letters before cutting them – this will make it easier to paint the smaller shapes and prevent any pieces from getting lost while drying.
Let the paint dry completely.
3. Cut out the letters and shapes.
Use scissors to cut out the letters and shapes for each design.
4. Assemble the letters.
Use a glue stick to glue the pieces together. Kids can have fun assembling the letters however they’d like!
5. Draw on the final details with a black marker.
See the sample image on each template for some extra details needed. Some letters need a mouth, nose, or whiskers added.
For example, the koala needs a nose and mouth added. You could also use a black pom pom for the nose.
If you find that the painted paper animals have curled slightly from the paint drying, place the finished paper animal under a stack of heavy books for a few hours to help them flatten out.
The file has a sample image to help you assemble each letter.
