Jello Popsicle Recipe
These colorful popsicles use both Kool-Aid and Jello to give them a fun fruity taste. The Jello also helps make them drip less when eating them too!
Ingredients Needed
- Jello 3-oz package (Cherry, Grape, Lime, Orange, Lemon)
- ½ teaspoon of Kool-Aid (Cherry, Grape, Lemon-Lime, Orange, Lemonade) – or you can substitute with another pack of flavored drink mix
- 1 cup of boiling water
- 1 cup of cold water
Supplies Needed
- Spoon
- Saucepan
- Large Pot (to submerge popsicle mold)
- Bowls (optional for leftover Jello liquid)
How many popsicles can I get from one box of Jello?
Using a standard 3oz package of Jello, you can make 5 popsicles of the same flavor. If you would like 10 popsicles of the same flavor, double the recipe and use 2 packages of Jello, 2 cups of boiling water, and 2 cups of cold water. If doubling the recipe, you can use the entire Kool-Aid packet.
Can I use the entire packet of Kool-Aid in the popsicles?
We don’t recommend it. This will make the popsicles sour and would require more sugar to take the sourness away. Double the recipe if you would like to use the entire packet and it will make 10 popsicles.
Why are my popsicles hard and icy?
Your freezer temperature might be too low. Try adjusting the freezer settings or letting the popsicles sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating.

Equipment
- Popsicle Mold
- Large pot
Ingredients
- 3 oz Jello package (Cherry, Grape, Lime, Orange, Lemon)
- 1/2 tsp Kool-Aid or flavored drink mix (Cherry, Grape, Lemon-Lime,Orange, Lemonade)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
Instructions
- Bring one cup of water to a boil.
- Pour in one flavor of Jello powder and ½ teaspoon Kool-Aid of the same flavor. For example, Cherry Jello with Cherry Kool-Aid. You can also experiment with different flavor combinations but the colors may turn brown.
- Once the Jello and Kool-Aid have dissolved into the boiling water, add the cold water and stir until mixed.
- Repeat this process with any other remaining flavors you'd like to make. Each recipe will make 5 popsicles.
- Pour the liquid from the saucepan into a measuring cup with a spout – the spout makes pouring into the popsicle mold cavities much easier. Pour about 1/2 cup of liquid into each popsicle mold cavity.
- Place the lid onto the popsicle mold and insert the popsicle sticks halfway once the lid is on. Freeze for 6 hours or overnight, if needed.
- Once the popsicles are frozen and ready to eat, fill a large pot halfway with warm water and submerge the bottom of the popsicle mold for 30 seconds. This will help loosen them and make it easier to remove them from the mold.
