Directions to Make Halloween Egg Carton Crafts
Stacking the Egg Cartons
To stack the egg cartons on top of each other, you’ll need to add spacers in between so that they sit a little higher on top of each other. See the below image. You can create a small square piece and glue it to the top of the bottom piece. Then glue another piece on top.
Pumpkin
1. First paint your egg carton orange.
2. Paint half of a popsicle stick brown and cut a 1/3 of it off. Adults may need to do the cutting here since cutting popsicle sticks can be difficult.
3. Make a small slit mark with scissors (adults only) at the top of your egg carton and glue the popsicle stick in. Add a leaf from green cardstock.
Then draw on the face with a black marker or sharpie!
Witch
1. First paint 1 egg carton green and 2 egg cartons black.
2. Make the witch hat:
Cut out a small circle. Make a slit mark halfway in the circle. Roll the circle around to form a cone. You may need to trim off some of the ends. Glue or tape this together to keep the cone shape.
Glue the cone on top of another round piece of black cardstock. Glue some gold glitter paper on to make the brim of the hat.
3. Glue the 3 egg cartons on top of each other adding a small spacer in between (see image example above).
Glue strips of orange cardstock for the witch’s hair to the side of the face.
Glue the hat to the top of the witch head.
4. Add 2 small googly eyes. Draw the nose and mouth on with a black sharpie or marker.
Then glue 2 purple buttons on.
Ghost
This one may be the easiest one to make!
1. Paint 2 egg cartons white.
2. On top of one, add a spacer made from the egg carton top or other cardboard (see picture example above). Then glue another white egg carton on top.
3. Add two googly eyes (one slighly larger than the other) and draw a mouth on with a black sharpie or marker.
Vampire
1. Paint 2 egg cups black and 1 egg cup a light beige color. Paint on the hair with black paint.
2. Glue the egg cartons on top of each other by adding a small spacer in between (see picture example above).
3. Glue a white triangle on top of the black egg carton to make the shirt and then glue a red glitter paper bow on top.
4. Cut out a large red triangle from cardstock and glue to the back of the egg carton for the cape.
Glue two small googly eyes for the face. Draw the smile on with a black sharpie or marker.
5. Then glue on 2 small teeth from white cardstock.
Frankenstein
1. Paint 2 egg cups purple and 1 egg cup lime green.
Paint the hair on with black acrylic paint.
Glue the egg cartons on top of each other by adding a small spacer in between (see picture example above).
Glue two strips of black cardstock to the face to make the eyebrows and mouth.
Glue 2 googly eyes on top. Glue 2 black buttons on the purple egg cartons.
