Choose whatever color you’d like for the turkey’s jersey to match your city’s team, your kid’s favorite team, or your child’s school team colors.
We made the bars on the helmet using small pieces of pipe cleaner, but if you don’t happen to have pipe cleaners in your stash, yarn or even paper would also work.

How to Make a Turkey in Disguise Football Player
1. Color in your turkey template.
Print off the free disguise a turkey template.
Color in the face, beak, and wattle on the turkey template – we used paint, but you can use crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
You’ll also want to color in the tail feathers – use a color to match the colors you plan on using for the football player’s jersey.
2. Cut out the paper shapes.
Print out the turkey in disguise football player template, found at the bottom of the post. Trace them onto colored paper and cut out. You can also color the template directly and glue it on.
For the numbers, you’ll only need 2 numbers, so pick the 2 you want – or skip the numbers and have your kids draw on the logo or number for their favorite team or player!
3. Glue the shoes onto the turkey.
First, glue the socks over the turkey’s legs, and then glue the shoes on top.
4. Add the turkey’s jersey.
Glue down the jersey, covering the turkey’s body.
Add the 2 sleeves on top, along with the contrasting collar.
Next add the turkey’s arms right next to the bottoms of the sleeves. Before pressing the arms down well, glue the football underneath one of the arms.
Then add the numbers to the jersey or draw on the team logo.
5. Glue down the helmet.
Glue down the helmet on top of the turkey’s head.
Cut a pipe cleaner into 2 pieces, each about 1 3/4″ long and shape them into gentle curves.
Add a small dot of tacky glue to each end, and glue both pipe cleaners onto the bottom of the helmet, forming the metal bars.
6. Add the football laces.
Use a white paint pen, paint or colored pencil to draw the lace details onto the football.
Once the glue on the helmet is dried, your football player turkey is ready to go!
This turkey disguise will surely stump everyone at Thanksgiving!
