How to Make a Paper Heart Wreath
1. Print off the free printable hearts.
You can get the free printable templates at the bottom of the post (on the form with a preview of the template).
2. Color the templates.
You will need to color 5 of the small hearts and 5 of the large.
Use any coloring material you may have on hand, such as markers, colored pencils, or crayons. Kids can even use watercolors to color them in.
If you’d rather not color the templates, you can use the heart to trace on colored cardstock or construction paper instead.
3. Cut out the small and large hearts.
4. Cut out the center of a paper plate.
Cut the middle out of the paper plate.Â
5. Paint the paper plate pink or red.Â
This is optional, but some of the paper plate might show through depending where you glue the hearts on.
6. Fold up hearts to give them a 3D look.
Fold up the hearts a bit so the edges stick out and look 3D before gluing.
7. Glue the hearts to the paper plate.
Glue the five large hearts down first by spacing them out throughout the paper plate.
Then glue the small ones on top in the middle of each large heart.
8. Add a bow to the top of the wreath.
Glue the bow to the small heart at the top of the wreath.
9. Add a loop of ribbon to the back for hanging.
Tape the ribbon to the back for hanging.
These paper heart wreaths are a fun way to decorate a space for Valentine’s Day!
