Bear Handprint Card
This bear handprint craft is so easy and fun to make! Kids can add a personal message inside and give it to someone they love for a holiday or just to say “I’m thinking of you”.
You can write a number of cute sayings inside the card.
Check out these cute bear message ideas!
- I Love you Beary Much!
- Thank you Beary Much!
- Happy Father’s Day Papa Bear
- Happy Mother’s Day Mama Bear
- You’re the Beary Best!
You can also make up your own saying or message to put inside.
You only need a few supplies to make this easy bear card! If you don’t have brown cardstock you can also paint a handprint and make it on white paper.
If you don’t have googly eyes you can cut out white paper and then use a marker for a dot in the center. You can also have kids draw or color on the pink cheeks if you would rather not use paint.
Supplies Needed To Make a Bear Handprint Card
- Cardstock – brown, light brown, black
- Small googly eyes
- Small black pom pom
- Pink paint
- Black marker
- Glue – We like to use this glue for gluing on googly eyes which tend to be a little harder to glue. You can also use hot glue (with adult supervision or help) or regular white glue (just allow enough time for it to dry).

Directions to Make a Bear Handprint
1. Start by tracing the hand on a folded piece of brown or black cardstock.
Line up the edge of the hand with the fold so that the folded edge runs along the pinky.
Cut out the handprint. It should now open up like a card.
2. Cut out a bear head and ears from the same colored cardstock.
If you are making more than one card, you can use one ear and head template to trace onto more paper.
For the head, you can trace around a circle shape like a small bowl or paint bottle.
3. Cut out a smaller piece for the inner ear.
To match the size, trace the outer ear on paper and then just cut it to be smaller. Glue to the outer ear piece.
4. Glue the ears to the bear head.
5. Cut out a small circle for the bear mouth and glue to the head.
You can trace around a circle shape like a small glue stick.
6. Draw on a mouth with a black marker.
7. Glue a small black pom pom on for the nose.
8. Glue on two googly eyes.
9. Dip the back of a new pencil into pink paint and dab onto the side of the bear face to make pink cheeks.
10. Glue the bear head to the handprint.
11. Add a ‘beary’ special message inside.
